Mitchell Chamberlin - April 30 – June 20 Mitchell Chamberlain returns to Janice Mason Art Museum, is having had a previous exhibit in 2000. His acrylic painting focuses on the abstract elements found in nature, emphasizing form, texture, and patterns. He has exhibited in solo and juried shows across Tennessee as well as selected venues in Kentucky, Indiana, Alabama, and Georgia.

Teams will also have for sale items of all types including pet jewelry, Mothers Day gifts, T-shirts shirts, people jewelry and much more. Kentucky Quilts: Images of Quilts fromCollection of Kentucky Historical Society Traveling Exhibit THE HOMEPLACE |
These quilts are pieces of history, documenting the style, fabric, skill, and artistic talent used by Kentucky quilters in different eras. Each quilt is a unique document of the maker and the time in which it was made. Sometimes these fabric scrapbooks contain treasured bits of cloth from party and everyday dresses, ties, or children's clothing – memories lovingly stitched together. This exhibit contains full color images of fifteen quilts, including family quilts, crazy quilts, and log cabin quilts. Examples are shown of various techniques used in quiltmaking, such as pieced, appliqué, and trapunto. Several quiltmakers are profiled within the exhibit. Free to LBL visitors |

The Pickin' Party: The Homeplace Old-Time Music Festival

Born of the heartland, raised in the river valleys, old-time country music this weekend will once again echo in the hills and hollows of The Land Between The Lakes. For two days, experience the best of old-time music through workshops, picking' sessions and energized performances of old-time fiddle, banjo, songs and bluegrass music. Bring banjo, guitar, fiddle, or harmonica and join in on the fun during daily open mic sessions. Enjoy weekend performances of folk singer and fretless banjo picker, Mark Dvorak, old time string band, The Dixie Volunteers, and the best of old time and bluegrass music.
Throughout the day, stroll through the historic buildings, fields and gardens, and talk with the 1850 farm family as they go about their daily chores. 1850 children's activities will be provided throughout the weekend. James Archambeault , June 25 – August 22 for more than 20 years, James Archambeault has worked as an independent photographer specializing in nature and the landscape. He has the rare ability to capture the historic, archival, and artistic aspects of his photographic subjects. His award-winning craft is evident in the careful selection of time, season, and subjects in his beloved Kentucky. Archambeault has photographed four large format "coffee table" books: KENTUCKY, 1982; KENTUCKY II, 1989; and KENTUCKY III, 1999; THE GIFT OF PLEASANT HILL, A SHAKER COMMUNITY IN KENTUCKY, 1991.

All children are invited to join the John L. Street Library's Summer Reading Program and attend the fun and exciting programs and events planned for children ages 2-12. Art Tells a Story , August 27 – October 10 Folk artists Glenn Newman and Willie Rascoe Glenn Newman, Louisiana native now living in Hazel, Kentucky, and Willie Rasoce, Trigg County artist, team up in this imaginative folk art exhibit Newman's intricate drawings and etchings on gourds illustrate Cajun stories and folklore. Rascoe uses found wood, shell, bone and metal to create whimsical, three-dimensional sculptures .
